Team little Rocky in autumn holiday
Some oppstallett on wire, and some distributed in the kennels. Everyone was sleeping outside, when we were very lucky with the weather. Brilliant sunshine every single day. The cabin is simple. One must fetch water from the creek. To cook, you must fire up the stove. Better rekresjon don't excist.

24. April 2010.
Morten was on a sled training today. Brilliant sunshine. A bit curious to snow. Was there any snow left? The way up was bad, started from Vekta where it was bad with snow the first few kilometers.
Almost down again by car
The lower half of the weight times the ground was without snow. But the gravel was wet and fine, so it was better coating than the picture shows.
Halfway up the weighted ground was snow better
But further up, there was plenty of snow. Now it was the waters that was the big question. A week ago there was a lot of surface water. There has been cold at night so it should be possible. The first water to pass through was Piperen. 15 cm surface water the week before, but good solid track today. Piperfløyta and Dampipern without surface water and fine track. On Kolsjøen ice was about to release the edges, but I got dry shod over here as well.
Kolsjøen
Then came a few areas with open water in the trail, but it was possible to run without getting your feet wet. Between the lakes there was still plenty of snow in the trail.
Here has swamp taken over the trail, but the dogs turns out and find an alternative route.
Skomakarputten, nice to follow the edge
Passed Tvekjeller, entered firm ground again and stopped to take a picture. Oberst wanted to continue and gave loud message about it.
Tvekjeller in background
Considered to run over Vrangen/Toreren, but took "Shortcut" down instead. Fortune, becauseToreren was open. This water is narrow, long and unstable.
Next to Toreren
11. April 2010.
Winter is approaching the end. Today we were on a trip to make fire and hotdogs in the sunshine.
From Gapahuken, Kroktjern.
Mona og Robert kom med sine to barn og 12 hunder.
Rune og Cecilie kom med sine to barn og 8 hunder. Selv hadde vi med 13 samojeder.
N
A few of the dogs .
We went out early, then it was still solid trail. When we were going home again it was started to melt on the lakes.
For some reason they keep the track . Now it was around 10 cm. surface water on Dampipern, but it's just fun.
This is from the other end of Dampipern.
From Piperfløyta, MUST remain into the water.
The weather was good, and although the pictures show surface water, there is not much in terms of season. But one secures ofcourse, go with rubber boots. When we were over on solid ground again came four teams and want to pass.
Robert .
First came Robert, and the dogs wrap themselves into Kristin's team. Natasja and Kvikk in front, and they pretend nothing.
Robert has to go to adjust hid dogs back in the trail, but no one cares. Not a sound from anyone.
Hektor stands in the middle, Sibir and Olivia at the very back. They pretend nothing. Past Morten's team goes without any problems
Mona
Monas team wrap themselves also into Kristin's team. But sleddogs is selected a lot on behavior, so no problems at this crossing. Our dogs are waiting patiently.
Rune . Cecilie .
Runes dogs past smooth, and Cecilies dogs take a trip out in the powder. Now Sibir really want to run further.
You can see him howling. So finally all the teams has passed and the journey continues. The trail was firm and good this day. There was no breakthrough before we had one and a half km down back to the car. So it remains to see if this was the last sledtraining for this year. Much depends on how cold it gets at night next days/weeks.
